		<description>I discovered this book several years ago and agree with everything you wrote. I&#039;m a librarian myself and McMullen has sly in-jokes about the profession. I also enjoyed that librarians were required to have a proficiency with weapons and that policy conflicts can be settled by a duel. Sometimes I think that wouldn&#039;t be such a bad idea.

The technical details of the world of a post-apocalyptic Australia are wonderfully written. A packet switching network with error detection using beamflash! Genius.

This is one of my all-time favorite books.</description>
