This is an interesting epistemological consideration of objects. The suggestion that such can be suffused with an aura of menace is original in this context. The use of he is pertinent, this gender socialisation of evil as "male" is accurate though disappointing for the male population at large.

This was an excellent poem. I'm going to see if I can get anyone else to listen. Simple, and yet exactly what you asked for.. modern monsters. Very perceptive.

A fine, spare reading, Steve. You do the teasing, omniscient, introspective narrator voice well. Thanks for opening another paying market for SF poetry. I was delighted this summer when Readercon became the venue for the Rhysling Awards. This piece, fine as it is, placed second. The readings and the Poetry Slan (no typo) were an excellent addition to a fine con. If you get positive feedback from more than just me, please consider making an overture to Mike Allen to spread the word that you're in the market.
