This, by far..out of every short story I have ever read or listened to, is irrefutably the absolute best Short Story ever! It is my all time favorite. Each time I think "short story" ...this always enters my mind.

In the smallest span of time and words, the author has created a grizzly image of an alternate form of hostility in a world similar to our own, but with its very different threats. It captures the innocent of everyday life and in the span of a moment, chaos breaks out and must be fought against.

Amazing story. This one alone will inspire me to write one of my own...hopefully of equal greatness.

No butt-kissing here. Honest impressions only.

Thank you.

Hmm, one suspects Anna Eley is related to you, Stephen. Spouse? Sister? Either way, the passion of the reading while engaging and evocative, had an extra, creepy frisson knowing your son had to be in the reader's thoughts, if not her lap, during the recording session. Another good pick, treated well. Your personal back story just gave it a bit of an extra tweak. Bravo!
