I also thought that the historical detail and the technical knowledge of that era was rather impressive (and helped to draw me into some of the story) I was fading in and out towards the end of the story, simply because its hard to sustain momentum when people are dying from dehyrdation. 2 cents worth :) First off, the level of detail with regards to the boat is really well done.
